Echinacea Cake Painting Demo 14th April 2025

Learn to paint Echinacea flowers by joining Lou on a live cake painting demonstration on the 14th April 2025.

Uk time 7pm-9pm (approximate finish time)

I will demonstrate how to use cocoa butter and edible dusts to create a paint that can be used on fondant, ganache, and chocolate for best results. The technique can be used on buttercream, however this requires more patience, the buttercream must be smooth and firm so regular chilling is required.

I will demonstrate on to cake boards covered in fondant icing.

You will learn how to:

How to make an edible paint using cocoa butter and dust colours.

How to mix the paint, how to keep your brush clean, and general practice tips.

How to create different consistencies for desired effects.

I will show you how to build up the shape and how to correct it if necessary.

How to blend the paint.

How to build up a design to create depth.

How to highlight and shade.

Please note that I use food colouring to create the edible paint. I often use icing whitener which contains titanium dioxide.

This is a live demonstration that will be taught in English only. No subtitles will be on the video or recording, you can choose to add subtitles from your own zoom account.

The Demonstration will be recorded and then sent to all participants within three days after the live Demo. The video will be yours to keep. So don't worry if you cant make the live demo, you can watch on catch up!
